This time we’re going to talk about layered fashion. My post is devoted to covering shirts with knitwear. You will see stunning street style looks that are both stylish and extremely comfortable for colder months. I know a lot of ladies who are afraid to combine these pieces of clothing because they are afraid of looking bulky and large. This creepy result can occur if you layer them incorrectly as they are not meant to be layered. If you want to see stylish tricks and ideas on how to create an artfully draped look from simple pieces (knitwear and layered shirts), feel free to check out these gorgeous street style looks and let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
This combination is very popular these days. What I love about this pairing is that you don’t need a tailored fit of your shirt as it will fit under your lovely sweater. I recommend starting with classic plain white shirts and plain sweaters. Make sure the tails and cuffs of the sleeves are sticking out. For example, you can try on Peter Pan’s white collar shirt and wear it under a sporty gray and white sweater with a red and white gingham midi skirt. If you love modern looks, you can try on a gray shirt and combine it with a color-coordinated short-sleeved sweater in combination with gray, gray-white, narrow pants with black, shiny pumps with pointy toes. If you’re more into a laid-back and urban look, be sure to try on an oversized creamy white wool sweater worn on a white, unhidden shirt, with ripped skinny jeans and pointed toe flat slippers made of deep brown leather. Don’t be afraid to wear bright colors and prints. I like to see girls who appear in the street wearing light blue knitted sweaters on white shirts with lips printed. It’s ok to use patterns and prints in your layered looks. I like to see women step out in dark knitwear with printed shirts and jeans. Personally, I like casual outfits in which the hem of the button-down shirts protrudes from under the knitwear. You can even get bolder by showing off your print-mixing skills by wearing a printed shirt over a printed sweater. For example, you can try on a white and red gingham shirt under a navy sweater with a white anchor print and complete the look by adding in neutral colored shorts and bright red shiny flat pumps with pointy toes. Another great way to update your outfit is to wear knitwear under your shirt. All you need is to make sure that the knitwear is form-fitting so that your shirt doesn’t look bulky to you. Personally, I like to wear short sweaters on shirts. The result looks creative and unique. For example, you can try on a long-sleeved, black, cropped, fitted sweater and wear it over a white button-down shirt. Complete your outfit with a plaid, black and white printed high-waisted skirt. If you want to wear oversized and roomy sweaters, you are welcome to create such looks. All you need is to balance your look by adding skinny jeans.
Every outfit is unique, so everyone has to experiment with layering shirts with knitwear.
